What makes you different from other fitness trainers?
-
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy?
Yes, Home Bodies offers a money-back guarantee on all our services (and products, too). We also use customer surveys to ensure that we're "wowing" you with our services. -
What makes your program different from other weight loss programs?
I guarantee results, and I work with you to create a program you can live with and be happy on for life. The program is flexible around your lifestyle and effective because it's based on science, not hype. -
How was your program developed?
Through studying exercise physiology and nutrition, and then testing out certain regimens on a variety of people (case studies) to develop the most effective methods. I constantly re-test and re-assess if the program is working at the absolute best level it can for your lifestyle and your goals. -
What do I need to get started on your program?
You need a willingness to meet with me for a complementary consultation. -
Once I lose the weight, how do I keep it off?
By following a modified version of the diet and exercise that led you to your desired weight, which is typically less stringent than the active weight loss phase. -
Can I eat carbohydrates?
Yes, you must eat carbohydrates at times for maximum exercise performance and health. -
What other types of foods can I eat while using your program?
You can eat any food in moderation. -
Why do you focus on calories?
Calories must be taken into consideration because too many calories mean you won't lose weight effectively, and too few mean your metabolism will slow and your body won't respond as well to the workouts. You don't have to count calories, but I will teach you how to be aware of what you are taking in versus what you are burning so that you can reach your goals faster. -
How can I easily keep track of what I eat?
I have a number of easy ways to help you keep track, no counting or measuring required. If you like to count and measure, I can help you with that as well. -
Can I choose my own foods?
Yes, I highly encourage choosing your own foods because you will be happier and more likely to stick to the program. This is a lifestyle not a diet. -
Can I dine out while using your program?
Certainly! -
Can a vegetarian be on your program?
Yes, that is workable. -
Can I drink alcohol while on the program?
In moderation, alcohol is not a problem. -
Shouldn't I just eat low-fat products to lose weight?
There are many flaws to just trying to eat low-fat, a major one being intake of refined carbs and sugar, which can thwart weight loss efforts and stimulate appetite. I like a balanced meal and snack plan that leaves room for all types of foods. -
Will I go hungry using your program?
No, if you are hungry it is an indication that your calories are too low. -
Does your program make room for favorite food cravings?
Yes, in moderation any food is allowed. -
How much weight can I lose per month on your program?
Depending on your starting weight, you can lose from 4 pounds to 25 pounds per month on the program. Most clients can lose 4-8 pounds of fat per month on this program, and KEEP it off for good. -
What type of goals should I set?
Set goals that are important to you, and I will guide you in achieving them as effortlessly and painlessly as possible. -
How often do I need to weigh myself while using your program?
I recommend weighing once per week to track progress. -
Do I have to go to the gym or exercise several hours per week to lose weight?
You don't have to ever go to the gym, and the exercise required varies according to a number of factors, including genetic tendencies, diet, how hard you work while you exercise, and your goals and how rapidly you wish to achieve them. -
Can I follow the program if I'm pregnant?
Yes, I have pre-pregnancy workout and nutrition plans you can safely follow while pregnant. -
Can I use your program if I am already taking prescription medicines for weight loss?
Yes. -
Can I be on the program if I have high blood pressure or diabetes?
Yes, that is not a problem, I will modify the program as needed to accomodate these issues and maximize your results, and hopefully get you healthy again so you are not dependent, or not as dependent, on medications or treatments for these things. -
What if I have a pre-existing condition that is not listed?
I will discuss that with you over the phone or during your complementary consultation. -
What are your qualifications? Have you been professionally trained or certified?
I am a certified personal fitness trainer with the A.M.P.F.T. I have a Bachelor's Degree with a psychology major and business minor. I am the author of the book, "Mind Over Fatter: A 30-Day Overhaul of the Mindset that Has Sabotaged Your Fitness and Weight-Loss Success." I was a competitive gymnast for 8 years, a gymnastics coach for 8 years, and a fitness instructor for 8 years. -
What is your educational background?
Certified Personal Trainer with the A.M.P.F.T. Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in business. Lots of hands-on experience and informal "studying" and "researching" as fitness is my passion. -
What approach do you take with your clients?
Most of my clients want body toning, weight loss, more energy, and to look younger. I emphasize resistance training with bodyweight exercises, dumbbells, and resistance bands. I teach cardio that can be done in less time but for more results. I counsel on diet as it relates to health and fitness and weight-loss results. -
Where do you train your clients? Do you train clients in their own home?
I train clients in their own home. I also train clients at Hard Nocks gym in Amesbury, MA, and at the Seacoast Family YMCA in Portsmouth, NH. I can train clients at other gyms upon making special arrangements--please inquire. -
Do I need a home gym in order to train at home?
No. Any necessary equipment will cost less than $75 and is provided by the trainer for your first month. At that point we request that you purchase your own set (again, under $75) either from a store or from Home Bodies. -
Do you provide dietary advice?
Yes, the results you get from exercise are very much related to your diet. I provide nutritional advice as well as behavior modification techniques from psychology to help you clean up your diet and get the body you've always wanted. -
What are your rates?
My rates vary based on your location. Please inquire. -
Do you provide any guarantees on results?
Yes, we offer a money-back guarantee that if you follow the program as designed by your trainer you will achieve the results we've decided on together. -
What makes you different from other fitness trainers?
I am very accessible (respond to calls and emails promptly) and very flexible as far as offering training appointments. I'm young and eager to succeed in my business. I'm a published author. Fitness is my passion and I've studied it and pursued it all my life. People say I'm very dedicated to what I do, and that I'm motivating and inspiring. I keep the clients goals in mind always.
